How long does the bus driver training program take?
Most trainees complete the full program in approximately 2–4 weeks, depending on scheduling, test availability, and individual readiness. The program is designed to shorten time to licensure by combining online coursework with structured, district-based behind-the-wheel training.
No prior commercial driving experience is required. The program is designed for both new drivers and experienced operators and provides all instruction needed to successfully earn a CDL.
Upon successful completion and passing state testing, trainees earn a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), typically a Class B, with required Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. All required FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) theory is included and reported to the federal Training Provider Registry.
Yes. Online coursework (CLP + ELDT) is mobile-friendly and self-paced, allowing trainees to complete lessons before or after work, on weekends, or during scheduled training blocks. Behind-the-wheel training is completed locally at the district using district buses and routes.
